Meredith Izzicupo, PT, DPT, SCS

Meredith is the owner and head physical therapist of Valencia Physical Therapy. She graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern University in 2013 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. While there, she played club field hockey and club ice hockey, and started to develop a love for running at this time. She is a two time marathoner, running The Marine Corps Marathon in 2013 and The Boston Marathon in 2014, raising money for Dana Farber Cancer Research in the process.

Meredith understands the importance of physical activity as it relates to a healthy and whole life. With her foundation in sports and athletics, she became board certified in Sports Physical Therapy by the APTA in 2017. She loves working with all athletes, but is particularly passionate about working with women and helping them get back to the things they love doing.

Her personal pregnancy, labor, and birthing experience highlighted how important perinatal and postpartum care is. Meredith’s mission is to help women throughout their pregnancy journey and postpartum recovery to return to their preferred level of activity - whether that’s dancing with friends on the weekends or chasing a PR. It’s also important to her that care is affordable, accessible, and determined by the PT and client.

It is her foundation in orthopedics, her experience in athletics, and her training in treatment of the pelvic floor that uniquely positions Meredith to treat the whole person; not just a body part or a cluster of symptoms.

She values education and has continued to take classes and pursue additional certifications to best serve her patients. Some of her additional training includes Select Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Graston Technique, Functional Dry Needling, and courses provided by Herman and Wallace, including training to treat the Pelvic Floor and Athletes and Pelvic Rehabilitation.
